How it works

  1. Patch test

A quick skin test at least 48 hours before your first colour, to check you don't react to the dye.

  2. Consultation

We look at your hair, discuss your colour history and agree the shade you want.

  3. Colour

Your colour is applied and developed, then rinsed and toned where needed.

  4. Finish

Your hair is styled, and we'll show you how to look after your colour at home.

Keep your colour looking good

At home

  • Use a colour-safe shampoo and conditioner
  • Wash with lukewarm, not hot, water
  • Use a heat protectant before styling
  • Use a purple shampoo only if we've advised it, as it can dull some shades

In the salon

  • Add a gloss between colours to refresh shine
  • Add a repair treatment if your hair feels dry or fragile
  • Book your next colour before you leave

Questions people ask

Do I need a patch test?

Yes. We carry out a patch test at least 48 hours before your first colour, and again if you haven't had colour with us for a while. It's quick, and it helps to keep you safe.

How often will I need my colour done?

Root tints are usually needed every four to six weeks, depending on how quickly your hair grows and how much grey you have. Balayage and soft highlights grow out gently and can last longer between visits.

How long will my appointment take?

It depends on the service. A root tint is the quickest, and highlights, balayage or colour correction take longer. We'll give you a time when you book.

Can you cover my grey?

Yes. A full colour or root tint will cover grey, and highlights can blend it in for a softer look.

Can I go from dark to blonde in one visit?

It depends on your hair's starting colour, condition and colour history. Going much lighter may take more than one appointment to keep your hair healthy. We'll tell you honestly what's possible.

Will colour damage my hair?

Lightening affects the hair more than adding colour or tone. With the right products, a good aftercare routine and a repair treatment where it's needed, your hair can stay healthy and shiny.

Can I colour my hair if it's already coloured at home?

Often, yes, but home colour can be hard to lift or change. Tell us what you've used and when, and we'll check your hair before starting.

How much does colour cost?

The price depends on the service, the length and thickness of your hair and how much colour is needed. We'll give you a clear quote before anything is booked.

Can I have colour and extensions?

Yes. We recommend colouring your hair before your extensions are fitted, and matching the extensions to your colour.
