Hair extensions

Length, volume and colour,
blended to look like your own

We fit two types of extension: nano beads and tapes. Here's what to expect, and answers to the questions clients ask most before they book.

Our two methods

Nano beads

Thin strands of hair are attached to your own hair, a few strands at a time, using tiny silicone-lined beads. There is no glue and no heat, so the extensions sit discreetly and move naturally.

Great for

  • Adding length and volume all over
  • A very natural, lightweight feel
  • Styling hair up, as the strands are fitted individually
  • Fine hair, as the beads are tiny and light

Worth knowing

  • The fitting takes longer, as each strand is placed by hand
  • They are moved up as your hair grows

Tapes

Wide, flat tape wefts are sandwiched around a thin section of your own hair. They lie flat against the head, so they're a popular choice for adding length and fullness quickly.

Great for

  • A quicker fitting
  • Instant length and thickness
  • A flat, seamless finish that sits close to the scalp
  • Straight or gently styled hair worn down

Worth knowing

  • They are slid out and re-fitted as your hair grows
  • Take care with oil-based products near the tapes

Not sure which to choose? Your hair type, thickness and the look you want all play a part, so we'll recommend the best method for you at your consultation.

How it works

  1. Consultation

We talk through the look you want, check your hair and choose the right method.

  2. Colour match

We match the extensions to your colour so they blend with your roots and lengths.

  3. Fitting

The extensions are fitted, then cut and styled to blend with your own hair.

  4. Aftercare

You'll leave knowing how to wash, brush and sleep in your extensions to keep them looking their best.

Questions people ask

Will extensions damage my hair?

Professionally fitted extensions, looked after properly, should not damage healthy hair. Problems usually come from extensions being left too long without being moved up, from heavy brushing or from poor aftercare. We'll check your hair first and tell you honestly if it needs some time to get stronger before you start.

Will they look natural?

Yes. We match the colour carefully and blend the extensions into your own hair with a cut and style, so the length and volume look like yours.

How long do they last?

The hair itself can last several months and can often be re-used, depending on its quality and how well it's cared for. Your own hair keeps growing, so the extensions need moving up every couple of months to stay comfortable and neat. We'll tell you what to expect for your chosen method.

How long does the fitting take?

It depends on the method and how much hair you're adding. Tapes are usually quicker. Nano beads take longer, as each strand is placed individually. We'll give you a time when you book.

Does it hurt?

Most clients feel little or nothing. You might notice a slight tightness for the first day or two while your scalp gets used to the new weight. Let us know if anything feels uncomfortable.

How much do extensions cost?

The price depends on the method, the length and quality of the hair and how many extensions you need for the look you want. We'll give you a clear quote at your consultation, before anything is booked.

How much of my own hair do I need?

You need enough length for the extensions to be hidden and blended, usually a few inches. If your hair is very short or very fine, message us a photo and we'll tell you what's possible.

Can I wash, swim and style them as normal?

Yes, with a few precautions. We'll show you how to wash and dry them and which products to use. You can curl or straighten them, but use a heat protectant and keep heat away from the beads and tapes. Rinse chlorine and salt water out well after swimming.

Can I colour or cut my hair with extensions in?

Colour is best done before the extensions are fitted, as the extensions don't take colour like your own hair. Your hair can be trimmed and blended as normal. Please talk to us before booking colour or a cut elsewhere.

How do I look after them?
  • Brush gently from the ends upwards, using a loop brush
  • Wash with a sulphate-free shampoo and keep conditioner away from the roots, beads and tapes
  • Dry fully before bed and sleep with your hair in a loose plait
  • Book your move-up appointment on time
How are they taken out?

Removal is gentle and done in the salon, using the correct technique, so your own hair isn't pulled. Please don't remove them yourself.
